I’m serious. Cancel that shit.

I haven’t had cable in my place for over 3 years now. You know what I’ve learned? Cable is bullshit. Hours and hours of mindless content pushed at you nonstop. Hundreds, if not thousands of channels. Pay per this, pay per that. On demand. It’s like a one way road to nowhere.

And that’s just what you’ll get if you turn it on when you get home from work. Nothing. How do I know? Because I just spent a week with my family. Cable in every room, including my bedroom.

Wanna know what I watched? A bunch of bullshit. Wanna know what I learned? That I can’t afford a yacht. Yet, I spent hours watching a show called Selling Yachts on AWE. Why? Because it was on. But I’m here to say it was a complete waste of my life. Not because I can’t buy a yacht, because WHO CARES?

I’m so over looking at other people’s shit. Television and social media is full of it. Here’s my one hundred percent perfect life, isn’t it so much better than yours? Look at all the stuff I have. Isn’t it amazing? Oh look, here’s more stuff. Don’t you wish you had what I had?

Nope.

I think you should find something else to do with your time other than show me all your stuff.

It dawned on me this evening, while sitting here in front of my computer at my place in San Francisco. If I had cable, there would likely be no Over Winter. No logo. No website. No pants. Nothing. Why? Because I would have been watching Selling Yachts.

Get up. Cancel that shit, and move on with your life. You are wasting time.

I suggest Apple TV or Roku so you can tap into paid services like Netflix. You have to choose what to watch – one program at a time. You know what happens? You get tired of looking for things to watch and read a book, or a blog, or listen to music, or start a business. That’s what I do.

You can do whatever you want. But if you want to get ahead, if you want to move closer to goal, if you want to start a business or whatever, cancel your cable.

Or don’t.

Just don’t complain about how you haven’t “made it” yet.
